A Trip to Remember

This is a chronological journal-ish entry of our secret rendezvous (secret sangat la kan! cool) ke tempat di mana Prince William berUni dahulu. Jalan2 skit terus terdetik, mungkinkah Wills pernah memijak tanah yang kulalui ini dulu? love struck I must admit though, all in all, the trip itself maybe wasn’t as blasting as I was expecting it to be. The most exciting bit would probably be finding Reese's in Morrisons.

Day 1

We departed at approximately 8 am in our metallic silver Mercedes E200 dancing. I know, I know, everyone wants to know how we could afford the car. Well, the great thing about being girls is you can kenyit mata and tunjuk betis and terus dapat kereta best hee hee. It was so funny seeing everyone look at us and the car in disbelief. Mamat2 kipas senyum2 gatal. Makcik pakcik omputih tak percaya camana budak2 tak mumayyiz yang bermata sepet2 dan berjalan macam orang mabuk boleh bawak kereta mahal untuk travel. Kak Zy and Hani took turns driving – Kak Zy’s a rock star, that’s why she likes speeding on motorways, whereas Hani is a young modern pop star who prefers the city. I only did the final hour or so di jalan2 kampung. Itupun Kak Zy had to make sure I was calm and not excited by anything outside the car, coz otherwise, I would ram it into the bushes or the opposite cars. whistling

The city girl, the motorway girl, and the kampung girl.

We got to our cute overlooking-the-beach-caravan at about 3 pm. The caravan is lovely! 3 bedrooms, with 1 double bed and 4 single beds, a fully equipped kitchen and a fully furnished living room (siap ada 2 DVD players with a selection of DVDs).

After unpacking, we went down to the beach for a BBQ. Despite the rain and strong winds, we persevered for the love of food! love struck After BBQing chicken, beef, burgers, frankfurters, carrots, courgettes (zucchini), marshmallows and prawn crackers, we went for ice cream at the very famous and very yummilicious Janetta's, which is celebrating its centennial birthday. Macam nak pengsan tengok the various flavours of ice cream – from Ferrero Rocher and Snickers to sorbets and yoghurts. drooling

We stayed in that night, eating and drooling over Prince Caspian and Edmund ("Yeah, I know. You had it sorted.") with the audio enhancement from the really nice speakers from the really nice person who called me more times that day than Dr.A (the orthopaedic surgeon) called our chef. tongue

Day 2

After we were all finally awake and ready, we went cycling! The bikes were all too big for us, but there weren’t any child-size-but-adult-design bikes around. Cycling was ok, but we were quite disappointed that we didn’t find Guard Bridge that the cycling guy told us to get to. Some technical glitches, plus the fact that we weren’t actually given any maps of cycling routes, except an exaggerated map of the whole town that is so small, it’s quite impossible to get lost in it. I think it was more of a photo and video outing rather than a real cycling experience (which is supposed to be challenging and not pondan! thumbs down). I’m sure we created quite a scene – a group of sepet coloured midgets running around laughing and screaming in a foreign language with cameras snapping shots at every moment. Balik cycling, mesti la Janetta’s lagi.

Then we went strawberry picking at a farm that had cute furry Kune Kune pigs! Duk makan strawberry yang manis2 dan besar2 dan merah2 hingga jadi mabuk strawberry and start cakap intangible things.

That night we went out to the other beach (West Sands) to watch the sunset. It turned out to be a photo shoot (and some video clips!) with our luxury car by the beach with the sun setting in the background – couldn’t be any romantic-er! rose

And we came back to eat and watch Mr and Mrs Smith for the umptieth time. Still getting excited over everything Brad Pitt or Angie does, and not getting over the fact that we wanna grow up to be like her – macho and ganas, yet graceful at the same time. Orang straight pun boleh jadi senget sebab Angie terlalu hot. day dreaming

Day 3

On our way back, we stopped by in Edinburgh. Well, not really ‘stop by’ coz we stayed there till after 4 pm. Walked the Royal Mile, took pics with William Wallace’s great great grandson or whoever he is, bought some souvenirs and enjoyed lotsa eye candy hypnotized. Then we actually decided to climb Arthur’s Seat (mula2 nak naik dengan kereta cantik tu, tapi tak jumpa route). I was quite jealous that Munzir made it to the top when he was here a couple years back, so dapat naik separuh jalan pun ok la.

Edinburgh.

Two of my favourite pics.

Needles in a haystack.

Babi kiut. (Lepas ni ada manusia confused letak kat Youtube la ni.)

The end.

See, told ya it wasn’t much fun? Plus the bad weather. But for me, it was the best trip ever, because of all the lovely people I spent my weekend with. In the end, it’s true what they say – it’s not what you do, but who you do it with. Ada orang dapat berkat from her knight in shining plastic dan muka dia terus berseri2 lepas tu. And of course the most attractive feature in St Andrew’s was Kak Atun’s adegan in the cathedral. “Eboh! Eboh! Eboh!”

Now I’ve got more than 3GB of pics and videos, tu belum transfer from other people’s cameras yet! Naya said it’s definitely a trip to remember sebab naik berat 10kg sebab asyik makan. That’s what happens when you bring the world’s best chef with you. Ok kawan2, jangan lupa hafal lagu tema kita, yakni “Alhamdulillah, syukur nikmat, Kak Atun tiada di dalam gambar!”

Mari kita teka sapa cakap ayat2 berikut.

If you can name Britney’s babies, you know too much crap.
Ngantuk ah.
Apa pendapat Kak Atun pula? Pendapat saya sangat bagus.
The grass always looks greener on the other side.
Wah bestnya! Best gila!
The beach, not bitch.
Ei, Kak Zy main jeling2 dengan saya.
Ya Allah! Bimbonya lah hai.
Kalau dalam Grand Theft Auto, boleh tak?
I hate you so much Inayah!
Put the Spice Girls in charge, they’ll certainly rule the world. Like I say, the power in the skirt that does it.

For those who would like to go, make sure you choose the right people to be on the trip. Also make sure you’re ok with walking, because it’s such a small place and you should walk around to enjoy it. Don’t forget to have a peek at other Scottish places like Edinburgh or the isles. And I suggest driving there, it’s rather difficult to get there on public transport. Though I can’t guarantee you’ll get a Mercedes if you try our trick.

Thank you girls! You rock my socks! Sarang hae yo!
